The Speedshow is a major automotive showcase held annually at the ASB Showgrounds, with stunning exhibits from many leading brands of the automotive industry, including motorsport, classic cars, motorcycles, 4WD’s, Performance cars, race cars, trade stands, live outdoor and interactive entertainment!

Smits Group is a well known name in the automotive industry, and in support of this we allowed for a large space to display our well known brands and products, including Meguiar’s, Peak Antifreeze and Lubricants, Rislone engine treatments, Power Service diesel additives, Posh Pile luxury car mats and of course House of Kolor – the Kustom paint specialists.

Our display once again included a live air bushing demonstration by Dean Lovich, who impressed the crowds over the weekend by producing a tribute to our openside flanker and All Blacks captain Richie McCaw. Dean Lovich’s inspiration came from a combined them for Christchurch after a long hard year of earthquake trauma and of course the Rugby World Cup. The bonnet has a portrait style image and a haka pose of McCaw, with Christchurch’s landmark cathedral nicely incorporated into the art work.

Dean Lovich took the bonnet to the Pakuranga Rugby club during the public open session on September 4 2011, where Richie McCaw had no hesitation in signing the artwork, which will be auctioned off after the Rugby World Cup with proceeds going to charity.
