The show saw a wide variety of automotive displays, both old and new. From old Packards to newer innovations like the X-Bow, the show ensured there was a wide range of cars and bikes to see. The three halls were filled with exhibitors, meanwhile the outdoor arena had some live action including drifting and burnouts.
The Best Trade Site award went to The Meguiar’s Car Crazy Central Stand which showcased eleven cars, representative of the car scene in New Zealand. One of the cars was a 1957 Mercedes Benz 300SL Roadster – number 145 of the 1,800 ever built.
Dean Lovich was on hand to demonstrate his talents by airbrushing a bonnet during the show with House of Kolor paints.
Some people arrived in style as part of the Meguiar’s Car Crazy Charity Cruise, which arrived at the showgrounds just before 11am and then performed a lap of honour involving burnouts around the arena before parking up on display for all to admire. The cruise was open to “show & shine” ready hot rods, classics and street machines with half of the proceeds to benefit Starship Children’s Health.
