PRODUCT TIP 3: The 5-step Car Care Cycle
Meguiar's has spent the last century dedicating itself to the relentless pursuit of creating products that provide a "show car" perfect paint finish for your vehicle. From this passion for excellence, Meguiar's has identified the following five step approach to paint care that will provide spectacular results when carried out with our unique selection of surface care products:
Step 1. WASHING
Removing loose contaminants on the top of your car's paint surfaces.
Products: NXT Generation Wash, Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner, Soft Wash Gel
Step 2. CLEANING / SURFACE PREPARATION
Removing bonded and embedded contaminants, blemishes and oxidation that washing cannot remove.
Products: Smooth Surface Clay Kit, Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, ScratchX, Gold Class Bug & Tar Remover.
Step 3. POLISHING (Optional)
This is the key step for restoring rich, vibrant paint colour with sparkling, swirl free high gloss. BEWARE: Not all products labelled "polish" are truly pure polishes. Some are abrasive and some are waxes. Meguiar's polishes are pure polishes.
Products: Deep Crystal Polish
Step 4. PROTECTING
Applying a barrier coat of tough waxes, silicones, resins and/or polymers on top of the paint finish to repel contamination and oxidation.
Products: NXT Tech Wash Liquid / Wax, Gold Class Liquid Wax / Paste Wax, Cleaner Wax Liquid / Paste, Carnauba Wax
Step 5. MAINTAINING
Removing the daily accumulation of surface contaminants (i.e. fallout, diesel exhaust, overspray, hard water spots, tree sap, bird droppings) the instant they are discovered, before they have time to bond or etch into the paint finish.
