PRODUCT TIP 2: Step-by-step Instructions for using Clay

Clay removes contaminants that have bonded to your paintwork which can’t be shifted by washing alone. Above surface contaminants such as industrial fallout, tree sap and bird lime can be detected by running your fingertips over the paint finish after washing and drying. Any ‘grittiness’ felt can be removed using Meguiar’s Detailing Clay.

1. Tear about 1/2 of a clay bar off and work it in your hands until soft.
2. Mould the clay to a 5cm disc.
3. Spray the Quik Detailer onto clean, dry paintwork and glide the clay through the lubricant using finger tip pressure—it will remove all of the bonded contaminant, giving you a finish as smooth as glass.
4. Rework the clay as you use it to ensure a fresh part of the clay is being used.
